Now she lives in Mosses with retired 74- year-old Sister Frances Schaeffer. Her work is part of the ministry of The Edmundite Missions in Selma, which has been operating outreach missions in Alabama’s Black Belt— a mostly poor region named for its rich soil- since 1937. He no doubt reasoned that he would Just let Herod handle the matter. But that was not to be. This Herod was the same Herod that previously had John the Baptist beheaded. And now we see the Lord being sent over to Herod. God always allov^ circumstances to come about for a rebellious sinner to reprobate himself when he will not have the fruth. Are you being reprobated? When the Lord was sent over to King Herod, what was Herod's response? Look closely at the Scripture; ‘And when Herod saw Jesus, he was exceeding glad:’ Can a sinner be exc^ding glad and not be saved? Take notice and follow me as we walk through the blessed Word of God. Yes, Herod was , exceeding glad to see the Lord. But it was for worldly reasons, What was it? ‘He hoped to have seen some miracle done by him.’ So Herod wanted to see the Lord for the wrong reasons. Herod was seeking some miracle. Herod never saw his need of a Substitute for his sins. Isn’t that the case of many of you? You go to church, but you have never seen your need of a Substitute for your sins. My cousin is like friat. She has never seen her need of a Substitute for her sins even though she attends church and ushers regularly. You are going to hell in the church. Why was Herod only wanting to see some miracle the Lord would perform? Herod never had seen his lost, ruined, wretched, and naked position before God, Herod did not know why Christ came into the world. You mean a man was king and didn't know why the Lord came into the world? And Herod thought he was ‘somebody come?" That's right, Herod did not know that Christ came to die as the Substitute for God's elect. Wilt you place your ear close to the Word of God and see how my Lord responded to Herod? Hold your seats nowll ‘Then he (Herod) questioned with him (Christ) in many words: but he (Christ) ANSWERED HIM NOTHING ’ (I K 23:9) RADIO 1370nM MAjQy 94.7 FM 1490 AM The Best Variety of Christian Music in the Carolina & Georgia Rejoynetwork.com THE NEW AND IMPROVED WGIV 1370 AM Tune in for our Live Broadcast Partners To Partner, Call 980.297.7256 Fax: 980.297.7247 /G:SOam/^ “Helping persons to realize God’s creative intent for his or her life as designed by God’s Word in the areas of evangelism, worship, discipleship, ministry and fellowship.’’ Antioch Missionary Baptist Church 232 Skyland Ave. • Charlotte, NC 28205 704-332-4951 • Website: www.antiochfamily.org Rev.
