Page Two UNION CHAPEL NEWS There was quite a large crowd at church and Sunday School. Everyone enjoyed the sermon preached by our fine pastor, V. S. Dowd. Carolina Beach seems to be call ing a lot of people from this and surrounding communities. Those who have been this past week are Mr. and Mrs. Julian Mitchell, Mr. and Mrs. Earl Hicks of Saratoga, Charles Creech, Elvera Raybon, and Mr. and Mrs. Uriah Whitley. The children of Mr. and Mrs. Cordie Ferrell, Carolyn, Jimmy, and Cornell, spent a few days with their grandmother, Mrs. Lillie Fer rell, in Pearces. Mr. and Mrs. Oscar Marden, Mr. and Mrs. Nevelt Maiden, Faye, Gene, and Wayne Fuller of Selma, spent Tuesday morning with Mr. and Mrs. Julian Mitchell. Mr. and Mrs. B. B. Richards had all of their eleven children, their husbands, wives, and children at home Sunday. They had a picnic dinner. The children included Mr. and Mrs. Woodrow Richards and children; Mr. and Mrs. Leo Leffingwell and children of Balti more; Sgt. and Mrs. William Jones and children of Okla., Mr. and Mrs. Clifford Richards and Keith of Arlington, Va., Mr. and Mrs. Earl Beddingfield and children of Rocky Mount; Mr. and Mrs. Baxter Richards and Bruce of Hopkins Cross Roads; Mr. and Mrs. Curtis Horton of Bunn; Mrs. Junior Mc- Lamb and Trudy of Clinton; Mr. and Mrs. Fernie Richards, Mr. Donald and Ronald Lee Richards of this community. Guests included Miss Virginia Creech and Mr. and Mrs. Rodney Flood and children of Bunn. Everybody enjoyed their, selves and had a wonderful time. Mrs. Sterling Mitchell spent Friday with her son, Mr. James Mitchell of Rolesville. —Mrs. Janice Denton PILOT NEWS We certainly had a record at tendance for Church Sunday. We have the largest number present that we have had recently. We had 223 to hear Mr. Poole’s last sermon on “Draw Night Unto God.” Our revival has been indeed a grand revival. We had a large crowd every night. We were es pecially glad to have the many visitors that visited with us throughout the week. Among our neighboring churches which were represented were Hopkin’s Chapel, Lee’s Chapel, Rock Springs, Lill- For Automobile Accident and Liability, etc. Also Tobacco Bam and Pack House Insurance, See D. Poole’s splendid mes sages that he brought to us each night. I’m sure everybody enjoyed them. We were indeed happy to have him in our community ard we hope he will be back to visit with us again soon. Rev. Peagram, our pastor, held the services in Pisgah Baptist Church in Smithfield Sunday while Mr. Poole was still here with us. Mr. and Mrs. Medlin and child ren of Newport News, Va., are visiting here with their daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Clifton Ray. Mrs. Jennie Medlin of Pearces visited with us. Mr. and Mrs. Rudy Averett and Bobby of Norfolk spent the week end here. Mrs. Marcia Pearce of Raleigh visited with Mrs. Buddie Lewis. Billy Pearce of the army at Ft. Bragg was home, bringing a friend from Elizabeth City with him. Truett Bunn is spending the Fourth in Washington, N. C. Mr. and Mrs. Mac Hudson and their son, Charles, were visiting Mrs. Cramar Rae for the weekend. Mr. Leroy Brantley was also visiting her. Mr. and Mrs. Garry Mac from New York were visiting their par ents, Mr. and Mrs. Pat Denton.
