DECEMBER 20,2017 BERTIE LEDGER-ADVANCE Community Obituaries The fabric of Bertie County since 1832 Amelia “Sis” Smithwick Davenport MERRY HILL - Amelia “Sis” Smithwick Daven port 72, of US 17 North, died Tuesday December 12, 2017 at Vidant Memorial Hospital in Greenville. She was bom in Bertie County March 15, 1945 to the late Jonathan Britt and Pauline Phelps Smith wick and was predeceased by a daughter, Paula Davenport. “Sis” was a member of Merry Hill Bap tist Church and a former bookkeeper with Home Feed and Fertilizer in Edenton. Funeral services wUl be held Friday December 15, 2017 at 2:00 PM at Me^ HiU Baptist Church. The Rev. Stanley Nixon will officiate. Burial will foUow in Edgewood Cemetery, Windsor. Survivors include her husband, Marvin Ray Dav enport of the home; dau^ter. Penny D. Price and husband Bill of Windsor; sister, Fonda S. Sander- lin and husband Truman of Windsor; brother, Britt Smithwick and wife Carolyn of Merry HiU; grand- chUdren, Adam Hughes, Erik Hughes, Heather Hughes; great grandchUdren, Finn, Ellison and Mac Hughes. The famUy wUl receive friends Thursday Decem ber 14th from 7-8:30 PM at Walker Funeral Home in Windsor and from the home at other times.
