Until Further Notice Road Closure The North Carolina Department of Transportation closed Jeff White Road in Bertie County on Monday, Sept. 24. The road closure is to allow the replacement of Bridge #34 over Eastmost Swamp. The road should reopen to traffic by Jan. 30, 2019. Donations Being Accepted Donations are currently being accepted for victims of Hur ricane Florence. Items needed are bottled water, cleaning supplies, Clorox and nonperishable food items. Logo Contest The Good Shepherd Food Pantry of Bertie County, along with the Bertie County Arts Council, is hosting a logo design contest.
