Plummer and son, Robert, ' are traveling through Georgia this week in connection with their sales manship business. Mrs.. Rush Whitmire and daugh ter, Sarah Jane, are visiting Mrs. Dale Thrash at her picturesque home, "Shadowlawn" near Asheville. Mrs. J. H. Lange and Mrs. Holt Calloway and small daughter, Anne Forrest, of Asheville, were guests Monday of Mrs. Roland Whitmire. The many friends of Mrs. H. S. Harkins will regret to know that she is critically ill at Mission Hos pi il, Asheville. Mrs. Harkins is the paternal grandmother of Mrs. Rush Whitmire, and will be remem ? bered as having visited here many times. Mr. and Mrs. J. A. Poteat, of Mar ion. spent the week-end with Mrs. Poteat's parents, Mr. and Mrs. E. W. Blvthe, Mr. and Mrs. Harry Loftis were week-end guests of ' Mrs. Loftis' parents in Abbeville, S. C. Pendleton filled his reg ular appointment Sunday afternoon and preached an excellent sermon. We were | sorry indeed to lose them, j but letters of dismission from our church were granted to Mr. and ' Mrs. C. R. McNeely, Sunday. They are located at Brevard and wish to ' unite with the church there. i I will state right here for the ben- ' efit of those that were not present Sunday, that our church services will be in the afternoon, both on the first and third Sundays.\ The change was, made to keep from conflicting with the Methodist services, which are held in the morning of the third Sunday. It is hoped that everybody interested will take notice and re member the dates and the hour ? 3:00 o'clock, p.m. We were glad to have Mr. Char lie Henderson of Oak Grove church jWith us in our Sunday service. We always have good singing when he is our leader. j Mr. R. E. Wood of Biltmore and Lawyf: Taylor of Asheville were calling in our village last week. IThey seemed to be interested in the new mining development. Mr. Frank E. Edwards of the Wrought Iron Range Co., was in our community, also looking after the interests of his company. We are glad to have such men around, it makes us think something is going to happen. We are glad to welcome Mrs. C. W. Fisher and family to our village. They are located at the Charlie Ben nett place near Mr. E. D. Reid's. The Branch, in Brevard township and which is described in a deed from W. E. Breese, Trustee to said Fisher, which deed bears date of July 6, 1925, and is recorded in Book 56 at page 476 of the Deed Records in and for Transylvania County, N. C. J. H. Pickelsimer holds a mortgage on this land. 9th. All the interest of Ralph Fisher in a tract of land described in a deed from Jerry Jerome to Ralph Fisher by deed dated February 27, 1926, which deed is recorded in Book 55 at page 45, of the Deeds Records in and for Transylvania County, N. C. A part of this land was sold unto Tom Wood, and part 1 to J. F. Hackler. There is a mort gage on this land for $200.00. Robertson of Tryon, was calling on friends at Oakland last Sunday. Miss Grace Hamilton of Brevard, and her brother Winfred, called on Miss Marion Henderson Sunday aft ernoon. L. C. Sanders and L. C. Case of Lake Toxaway, spent Sunday with their friend Ray Sanders. Clarence Norton has been quite sick again with the flu. The many friends of Mr. R. J. Gal loway of Glenville, will be sorry to leari^ that he is in bad health. Mrs. Galloway is also in bad heatlh. They have many friends and lots of kin folks in Transylvania. Ray Sanders has taken a job with the shrubbery people. If we are not snowed under, you will hear from us again next week.
