Queen Represents Brevard College In Speaking Contest Richard Queen, who is attending the Western Carolina Teachers College, has returned from Winthrop College, I where he took part in the Strawberry ! Leaf Tournament, He represented I the college in the oratorical and ex- temporaneous speaking contest. I Y'oung Queen, son of Mr. and Mrs. : Sam Queen, took a leading part in all J declamation contests held during the years he attended the local high schol, ' and in his senior year won the D. A. R. medal, and has since won other awards. Messer Infant Died On Last Monday Bennie James Messer, 4-mont hs-old son of Mr. and Mrs. Woodrow Mes ser, passed away last Wednesday morning. Funeral services were held Thursday and burial was made at the Davis cemetery. Rev. Forrest Ferguson conducted -the services. The infant is survived by hi par ents and several uncles and aunts, . and grand parents. Dr. Truesdale Will Teach Citizens Bible Class Sunday ' Dr. R. S. Truesdale, pastor of the ' First Methodist church, will address ; the members of the Citizen's Bible class, on next Sunday morning, at 10 o'clock. J. R.
