He told them the parable of the lost sheep, how, if a man had many sheep and one or mem siraverl Rnd was lost, he left the others and searched until he had found the lost one, and brought it home in triumph, calling on his neighbors and friends to rejoice with him. If a woman had ten pieces of silver, Jesus told them, and lost one, she would sweep her house and look everywhere until she found it, and would then call on her neighbors to celebrate her good fortune. Then He told them the parable of the prodigal son who left his father's house, 'wasted his sub stance and was reduced to abso lute starvation, so that he even envied the pigs their food. Then the foolishness and wick edness of his conduct were made clear to him and he decided to go back home, tell his father how sorry he was for his wayward ness, and beg forgiveness. Jesus told how the father re ceived him with affection and gave a great feast to celebrate this beloved son's return. He also pictured the hurt feelings of the Burnett Siding Baptist Church The Rev. ' Excitement, yes, a great deal of it, but there is mixed with it a sort of melancholy for the graduate. He knows that a happy era has just ended, and there is uncertainty ahead in the life that he has not yet tried. But there are fewer doubts, fewer misgivings in the mind of a y oung person if he has had proper religious training. If he can enter his career equipped with strong moral and religious convictions, the road ahead will much more likely lead to success and happiness. This offers a challenge to every parent and patriotic citizen. For every child should have the opportunity to acquire the spiritual stamina so needed to meet the responsibilities of life. Let's make every child in the community a "child of thc. Churchiand thus a, better citizen. 1 7 ' Li .: , . , . . t - . ii i A" ml '.Ml -- nin church for all ALL FOR THE CHURCH ' ' ' ' ) .'I,:,, -!, n",.h -i r , V'"hc", J c r.-.n ...,,) i , - .rusons wny l In;.- , ," n!Mlt For th i , r Mini motk ,),,, ., ., - 7'"-'n " for the I i , I ..' .n,".r I v ii,, ' lu .'iurcii ;e- ..
