<SfrCJjoJL ^yJQ^Ay Monroe-Griffin Wedding In Greensboro Miss Mary Virginia Griffin and Graham Alexander Monroe Jr. were united in marriage at 3 o'clock Saturday afternoon in Magnolia Street Baptist Church in Greensboro. The Rev. Jack Roe officiated at the double ring ceremony. The bride, who made her home with her uncle and aunt, Mr. and Mrs. Lawrcnce Allen of Greensboro, is the daughter of Robert Anderson Griffin Jr. of Walkertown and the late Mrs. Griffin. The bridegroom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Graham Monroe of Raeford. A program of nuptial music was presented by Larry Allen, organist and the bride's cousin, and Miss Nancy Scott, vocalist. Given in marriage by her father, the bride wore a floor ? length gown of peau de soie designed with empire bodice and elbow - length sleeves of alencon lace. Lace appliques - decorated the front and hemline of the dress. An organza train, appliqued with lace, was attached to the low - cut square neckline in back and finished with an organza bow. Her three - tiered veil of illusion was attached to three peau de soie rose buds, she carried a nosegay centered with a white orchid showered with white buttertly roses, stephanotis and baby's breath. Mrs. Roger Maxey of Charlotte, matron of honor, wore a dress of medium blue linen accented with a white cumberbund, and white trim. She carried a white basket of mixed summer flowers. Bridesmaids whose dresses were like that of the honor attendant were Miss Jan Apple of Reidsville, cousin of the bride, Miss Elicia Harwood of Albemarle, Miss Michele Griffin of South Hill, Va? cousin of the bride, and Mrs. Steve Perry of Chapel Hill. Miss Torrey Sinclair of Fayetteville, cousin of the bride, was flower girl. She wore a white dotted Swiss floor - length dress trimmed with lace. Mr. Monroe was his son's best man. Ushers were Eugene Monroe, brother of the bridegroom. Tommy Stevens of Raeford, David Allen and Andy Allen of Greensboro, cousins of the bride. Mrs. Lawrence Allen, aunt of the bride, wore pink with matching accessories, and a white orchid corsage. The mother of the bridegroom wore an aqua blue dress with matching accessories and an orchid corsage. Following the ceremony a reception was given by Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence Allen in the fellowship hall of the church. The table was covered with a white crocheted cloth made by the bride's grandmother. Later in the afternoon the couple left for a wedding trip to Calloway Gardens, Georgia. Upon their return they will make their home in Fayetteville. The bride is a graduate of Lenoir - Rhyne College in Hickory. The bridegroom is a graduate of U.N.C., Chapel Hill and is employed by Carolina Telephone and Telegraph Company. Rehearsal Dinner A rehearsal dinner was given in honor of the bridal couple on Friday evening at 8 o'clock at the Holiday Inn in Greensboro by the groom's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Graham Monroe. The table was decorated with an arrangement of pink roses, daisies and Queen Anne's lace. Thirty guests attended, including the members of the wedding party, the families of the couple, and Mr. and Mrs. Richard Neeley and Miss Fonda Blue of Raeford. The centerpiece was an arrangement of mixed summer ?lowers and the table was marked with place cards for the attendants, and Mrs. Graham Monroe, the bridegroom's mother, Mrs. Robert Allen and Mrs. Lawrence Allen of Greensboro, the bride's aunts, Mrs. James Sinclair and daughters Eliza, Molly and Torrcy of Fayetteville, the bride's July Bride-Elect Mr. and Mrs. William E. West announce the engagement of their daughter, Billie Sue, to Edward A. Clippard of Southern Pines, son of Mrs. Joe Dente of W'adcsboro and Carlton Clippard oj Raeford. A July 24 wedding is planned. They served dessert and Cokes when their guests arrived. Prizes went to Mrs. Tom Risher for high score, to Mrs. Younger Snead Jr. for second high and to Mrs. Dave Russell for bingo. Mrs. Warner Mrs. Joe Upchurch and Mrs. Marie Brown were visitors to the bridge club Thursday night at the home of Mrs. Jimmy Warner. The hostess served a dessert course when her guests arrived and lemonade and nuts during play. Mrs. Luke McNeill won the club prize, Mrs. Brown was winner of the visitors prize, and Mrs. Ransom Baucom received the consolation. BIRTHS Mr. and Mrs. Ronnie Cameron announce the birth of a daughter, Julie Ann, on June 23, at Moore Memorial Hospital. Mrs. Cameron is the former Rhonda Gail Saunders.
