Heath-BeekerVows Spoken Miss Carolyn Elaine Becker, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Lee Bceker of Rockwell, and Paul Mark Heath, son of Mr. and Mrs. Paul Heath of Raeford, were married June 8, at 3:00 pjti. at Organ Lutheran Church, Route 3, Salisbury. The Rev. Herman G. Fisher officiated for the double ring ceremony. The bride, given in marriage by her father, wore a gown of candlelight nylon tricot banded with cluny lace at the square neckline, bodice and cuffs of the bishop sleeves. Her long veil was attached to a matching lace-trimmed picture hat and she carried a bouquet of yellow roses and gypsophila. Her only ornament was a small diamond-centered gold cross. Mrs. Dave Carpenter of Taylorsville attended her sister as matron of honor. Bridesmaids were Miss Pam Heath, sister of the bridegroom, Mrs. Lynn Heath, sister-in-law of the bridegroom, and Mis* Lecia Ann Drye. All attendants wore soft yellow gowns trimmed with cor?l ribbon sashes and carried garden bouquets of tropicana roses, summer daisies and gypsophila. Mr. Heath served as best man for his son. Ushers were Lynn Heath of Charlotte, Dave Carpenter of Taylorsville, and Gary Culp of Raeford. Richard Carter, cousin of the bride, was honorary usher. Immediately following the ceremony a reception was held in the church fellowship hall. The bride is a 1974 graduate of Appalachian State University with a B.S. degree in mathematics. Mr. Heath was graduated from Hoke County High School and is a senior at Appalachian State University where he is majoring in sociology. The newly weds will make their home in Vilas. The Rev. John Stone heard the marriage vows. Given in marriage by her father, the bride wore a gown of ivory silkorgan/.a appliqued with alencon lace re-embroidered in seed pearls. Her cathedral-length mantilla, edged in matching lace, was attached to a lace and pearl camclot cap. Mrs. Wanda B. Monroe of McCain, sister-in-law of the bridegroom, was matron of honor, and Miss Lynn McDuffie of Aberdeen was maid of honor. Bridesmaids were Libby Sue DuPre of Pinehurst, Ann Coggins of Sanfotd and Susan Whitford of Southern Pines. They all wore long, mint green floral organza gowns and carried baskets filled with pink carnations and gypsophila. Children in the wedding were Allison Caddcll, flower girl, and Peter Scolt. ring bearer. The bridgeroom's father served as best man. Ushers were Ronnie Monroe of McCain, Zan Monroe of Fayettetille. Scott Ash of Raeford, and Bob King of Pinehurst. Following the ceremony, a reception was held in Southern Pines Country Club. After a wedding trip to Disney World in Orlando, Fla., the bridal couple will live in Southern Pines. The bride was graduated from Glade Valley School and attended Sandhills Community College. She is employed by the Charlton Motel. The bridegroom was graduated from Hoke County High School and attended Lenoir Rhyne College. He is employed by Diamondhead, Inc. Rehearsal Dinner Among the pre-nuptial honors shown the bridal couple was a dinner party given Saturday evening by the bridgeroom's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Douglas Monroe, and his brother and sister-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Ronald Monroe, at the Hyland Hills Country Club in Southern Pines. A color note of pink and white was used on the tables whereplaces were laid for 35 guests, including members of the wedding party and families of the wedding party and families of the bridal couple. Mrs. A.J. Freeman spent last week in Spartanburg, S.C. with her son William and family. She went especially to sec her granddaughter Pat graduate from high school. They all went to Wake Forest to visit another granddaughter and her husband, Mr. and Mrs. Paul Stroud. Mrs. Freeman spent the past weekend in Raleigh with her son Leroy and family. Guests of Mr. and Mrs. Worth Graham on Thursday were the Rev. and Mrs. Robert C. Mooney of Graham. Barber-Jackson Mrs. Ruby Barber of Carthage announces the approaching marriage of her daughter, Linda have, to Donald Wayne Jackson of Raeford, son of Mrs. Katherine Jackson Allen. The wedding will take place on June 29 at 3:00 p.m., at Sandy llill Haptist Church in Cartliaee. Miss llarbcr is a 1974 graduate of Union fines lligli School. Mr. Jackson attended Hoke County High School and served two years in the U.S. Army at Ft. Jackson. S.C. Womble, Jr., o| Aberdeen, announce the engagement of their daughter, Gail DeLoache Wonihlc, of Atlanta, Georgia, to Danny Kaye Kavnor. also of Atlanta. Mr. Kay nor is the son of Mrs. B.M. Pipkin and the late Bruce B. Raynor. Sr., of Raleigh. A late August wedding is planned. Worth Graham, Jr.. of Virginia Beach, Va.. spent several days this week with his parents. Mis. Duncan Mcl'adyen is visiting her aunt. Mrs. Tracy Ireeman. in Steeds. Junior Woman's Club Started Seventeen women met June 7 at the Hoke Civic Center to hear Mrs. Gerald Hayes talk about the organization and purpose of Junior Woman's Clubs. Mrs. Hayes, from Dunn, is director of junior clubs for District Nine. Also present as advisors were Mrs. Crawford Thomas Jr., Racford Woman's Club president, Mrs. Eugene Carter, local Woman's Club member, and Mrs. Ann Respass from the Dunn club. Those present voted to form a club and appointed a temporary slate of officers to prepare a constitution and bylaws for member's approval. Officers are: Mrs. Phil Norden, president; Mrs. Jerry Goza, vice president: Mrs. Mike Bunting, secretary; Mrs. Larry Upchurch, treasurer. The club will meet on Monday, June 17 at 7:4S p.m. at the Civic Center. Officers invite all young women interested in this organization to attend.
