?>?/ c /* Julia AnneGibson Is Bride Of Jerry Lynn Tucker Miss Julia Anne Gibson, daugh ter of Mrs. William Thornwell Gibson Jr. and the late Mr. Gibson, and Jerry Lynn Tucker, son of Mr. and Mrs. Jack Aubry Tucker, all of Raeford, spoke their wedding vows Saturday, June 26, in a double ring ceremony at 6 o'clock in the evening, in the Raeford United Methodist Church. The Rev. Kelly J. Wilson, pastor, officiated. A program of wedding music was presented by Mrs. J.H. Austin, organist. The bride was given in marriage by her brother - in - law, Malcolm Nash Clark of Reidsville. Mrs. Malcolm Nash Clark at tended her sister as matron of honor. Bridesmaids were Miss Terri Tucker, sister of the bride groom, Miss Sally Austin, Miss Kathy Currie, Miss Beth Jordan, all of Raeford; and Miss Jennie Hubard of Roanoke, Va. Jack Aubry Tucker attended his son as best man. Ushers were David Wood and Charles Crowder of Raeford, Bill Bodie of Rocky Mount, Barry Arnett and Jo Scott of Fayetteville, Carlton Williamson and Steve Mosco of Whiteville. The bride's formal wedding gown was designed in white silk organza over angel skin. The princess bodice with portrait neck line was outlined with Venise lace trim and the entire bodice with "teacuD" sleeves, was designed in Swiss embroidered silk organza, enhanced with three dimensional organza flowers. The slender A-line skirt with chapel train, was ap pliqued with organza flowers and edged with double row of Venise lace identical to the neckline. Her bridal headwear of organza flowers interspersed with pearls, forming a face framing halo, held her elbow length veil of white silk illusion. She carried a bouquet of white flowers centered with a white orchid, with white satin streamers. The honor attendent wore a Nile green jersey dress made with empire bodice, spaghetti straps and a long flowing skirt, and a chiffon cape. The bridesmaids wore dresses identical in style and color. The mother of the bride was attired in a two piece ensemble of ice blue Qiana jersey fashioned with a scoop neckline and flowing skirt. The bridegroom's mother wore a peach gown made with a round neckline, cape sleeves and gathered skirt. Both mothers had white corsages. Reception Immediately following the cere Mrs. Jerry Lynn Tucker mony the bride's mother enter tained with a reception in the fellowship hall of the Raeford Methodist Church. Guests were greeted by Mr. and Mrs. Clyde Upchurch Jr. and Mr. and Mrs. Tom Cameron, while Mr. and Mrs. Carlton Niven and Mr. and Mrs. Robert Gatlin presided at the bridal register. The bride's table was centered with an arrangement of mixed pastel flowers flanked by lighted tapers. Mrs. Riley Jordan served bridal cake squares and Mrs. Bill Howell and Miss Ethelynde Ballance poured punch. An assort ment of dainty sandwiches, cheese straws, nuts and mints were served. Goodbyes were said by Mr. and Mrs. Neil Senter and Mr. and Mrs. J.H. Austin. Assisting in serving were Ashley Jones, Pat Winchester, Carolyn Wilburn, Tammy Hendrix and Lisa Upchurch. For travel the bride wore a striped jersey sunback dress, matching accessories and a white orchid corsage lifted from her bridal bouquet. After a wedding trip to Hilton Head, S.C., the couple will be at home at 108 West Donaldson Avenue, Raeford. The bride is a 1975 graduate of East Carolina university where she was a member of the Sigma Sigma Sigma Soroity. She taught reading in the Hoke County School System last year and will resume her duties this fall. The bridegroom attended Louis burg College and is a graduate of the university of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. He is presently employed at Croft Metal, Inc. in Lumber Bridge. Post-Rehearsal Dinner Members of the wedding party, SUMMER Dresses, Pantsuits .Shorts, Cotton Slacks REDUCED Theresa's ^ We Will Be Closed Monday, July 5th *"* out of town relatives of the bridal couple were guests at a post - rehearsal dinner on Friday evening at the Sheraton Motor Inn, Southern Pines, given by Mr. and Mrs. Jack Tucker, parents of the bridegroom. Guests were seated at a table centered with an arrangement of yellow and white daisies. Bachelor Party Ushers and other friends of the bridegroom were hosts at a bache lor party for Mr. Tucker later Friday evening at the home of Bob Manuel. Bridesmaids Luncheon The bridesmaids luncheon was given at the home of Mrs. J.W. Walker, Saturday at 12:30 by Mrs. J.H. Austin, Miss Sally Austin, Mrs. Neil Senter and Mrs. Robert Gatlin. Pink roses centered the dining table and smaller tables. Miss Gibson presented her bridesmaids with gifts at this time. The hostesses remembered the bride-elect with a corsage of daisies and a gift of pewter. Out - of - town guests w the bride - elect's grandmother, Mrs. W.T. Gibson Sr. of Sarasota, Fla; her aunts, Mrs. John Harkey of Walterboro, S.C., Mrs. Norris Hook of Leasville, S.C., Mrs. Henry Gibson of Barwell, S.C., Mrs. Grayson Everette of Have lock, Miss Jennie Hubbard of Roanoke, Va.; and her great - aunt, Mrs. Baily. Bridal Tea Mrs. Lawrence McNeill and Mrs. Marcus Smith entertained with a bridal tea for Miss Gibson on Tuesday afternoon of last week at the McNeill home. Mixed summer flowers flanked by lighted pink candles were used on the dining room table where sandwiches, nuts, mints, confec tions and punch were served. Mrs. W.T. Gibson poured punch. Miss Gibson was presented with gifts by the hostesses. ?aeford Girls To Attend State Ball .* i Raeford girls who have accepted invitations to be presented at North Carolina Debutante Ball in September at Raleigh are Jane Reid Austin, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Truman Bostic Austin, and Suzanne Baker Jordan, daughter of Dr. and Mrs. Riley Moore Jordan. The two girls have summer jobs working with Sunnybrook Day Care Nursery and both are students at Meredith College in Raleigh. Jane went to London with the Meredith Group Abroad for summer study ! with credit, prior to her freshman year, and toured Europe with the North Carolina Chorale the summer of '74. She is majoring in psychology and religion and her hobbies are horseback riding and baking. While in high school. Suzanne attended the Summer Scholars Program at Meredith. Her college majors are education and psychology. Any spare time from her summer job is spent sewing, reading, swimming or cooking. And any information on the ball activities is readily available to her from sisters Beth and Kim. both former debs. Miss Linda James Feted At Shower Miss Linda James, bride - elect, was honored with a floating shower last Wednesday evening given by Mrs. Warren Childress and Miss Linda Stanton. Guests called at the Childress home between 8 and 9:30. Yellow daisies and candelabra with yellow candles centered the lace - covered table. Misses Debra and Cindy Childress assisted in serving mints, nuts, cheese wafers and punch. Bridge Mrs McLeod Mrs. Benny McLeod entertained bridge club members and one visitor, Mrs. Earl Fowler, on Thursday evening. She served dessert and iced tea when guests arrived and nuts, candies and Cokes during play. High score prizes went to Mrs. Gene Carter and Mrs. Fowler, and Mrs. Carson Davis Jr. received the consolation. Arrangements of mixed summer flowers were used in the living room. Hostess gifts for Miss James were a corsage of yellow daisies and a bedspread. Out of town guest was Mrs. Lawrence Foster of Aberdeen, mother of the bridegroom - to - be. DANIEL H.
