Harrellsville Teams Victorious In Doubleheader With Conway Harrellsville. — Harrellsville thigh’s basketball teams , were winners in both games of a doubleheader played with Con way in the Harrellsville high school gym Friday night. With the girls’ varsity team playing only the first and third quarters Harrellsville swamped Conway 42 to 16. Bazemore with 17 points, H. Taylor 11, and Sharp 10, were leaders in Harrellsville I scoring, while the starting guards )) Jean Evans, H. Taylor and Jones gave up only 4 points. Hasty scored 10 of Conway’s total score. The Harrellsville boys grabbed an early lead but Conway fought back and at end of third quarter score stood 21 to 17 in favor of Harrellsville. Led by Co-Cap tain Cecil Powell, who scored 17 points, and Paul Mizelle with 10 points the winners put on a sub stained drive with the final score 37 to 19. Ricks was Conway’s out standing player. Lewiston Tops Hobgood 17-15 Lewiston. — The Lewiston Woodville basketball team swamped Hobgood Friday, Nov ember 30 by a score of 17-15. The game, played at Lewiston, gave the winning team a revenge for the game they lost in a tournament played at Scotland Neck. High scorers for Lewiston Woodville were Early followed by Hoggard and Basemore. Hin mar topped the losers followed by Whitehurst and Bunch. Severn Teams Win Over Conway High Severn.—The girls’ and boys’ basketball teams won a double header over Conway teams Wed nesday evening. This was the first contest of the season played with high school teams. The score for the girls’ team was 18-11. The boys ran up a 28-6 score. CATHEY, Manager SUFFOLK, VIRGINIA Fire Destroys Filling Station Rich Square.—Fire, of an un determined origin, totally des troyed a service station building located on the Rich Square Roxobel highway a mile and a half from Rich Square last Wed nesday night about 9:30. The building was owned by Mrs. Ellie Baker of Halifax and was formerly occupied by Mrs. Baker and her late husband. Mr. Peede of Scotland Neck was operating1 the service sta tion but had closed and gone to his home for the night when the fire occurred.
