■ Banks And Warren Are Married The wedding of Miss Vicky Louise Banks to Paul Robert Warren took place at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday, October 12 in Buckeye Baptist Church, Swannanoa, N.C. The Reverend David Moore conducted the ceremony, with special music provided by Mr. and Mrs. Ray Vess. The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Everett V. Banks of Burnsville, N.C. The bridegroom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Bryan L. Warren of Candler. Given in marriage by her father, the bride wore a full length Victorian gcwn of white organza trimmed with Alencon lace. Her fingertip -veil of illusion and lace was attached to a small cap of pearls. Mrs. Linda Hensley of Swannanoa was matron of honor. She wore a floor length yellow empire waist gown of polyester and carried a yellow long-stemmed rose. Pam Fox And Dan Parrish Are United In Marriage Miss Pamela Dawn Fox, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. R. B. Fox of Route 12, Lexing ton, N.C. and Danny Hugh Parrish, son of Mr. and Mrs. J. Hugh Parrish of Winston Salem, N.C. were united in marriage at 4:00 p.m. October 12 at Pine Chapel Moravian Church in Winston Salem. Given in marriage by her father, the bride wore a floor length gown with a chapel length train. The gown was fashioned of Satu Peau and Venise lace and featured a sweetheart neckline and bish op sleeves. Her veil was attached to a Camelot head piece and waist length man tilla with Venise lace. She carried a bouquet of white roses, blue daisies and baby’s breath. Maid of honor was Miss Penny Fox, sister of the bride. She wore a long blue velvet gown fashioned with an empire bodice and scoop neckline. Her headpiece was of blue velvet. She carried a mum, tipped in orchid, with greenery and white satin streamers. Bridesmaids were Miss Lisa Fox, sister of the bride, and Miss Kim Fox, Miss Rhonda Fox and Janice Norton, cousins of the bride, all from Winston Salem. They wore long flowing skirts of orchid and blue floral print with blue velvet empire bodice and scoop neckline. They carried mums of orchid with greenery and orchid colored streamers. The groom’s father was his best man. Ushers were Marty Parrish, brother of the bridegroom, Steve Fox, bro ther of the bride, Jim Lewis and Cliff Pitts, all of Winston Salem. The Rev. J. Taylor Loflin officiated at the ceremony. Organ music was provided by Doug Watts. Fred Reid played a trumpet solo. Burnsville Woman’s Club News The Burnsville Woman’s Club held its regular meeting on October 10 at the Commu nity Building. Twenty-one members and guests were present. Mrs. W. A. Y. She wore a floor length gown of yellow polyester flocked with small flowers. She also carried a yellow long-stem rose. Mr. Warren was his son’s best man. Ushers were T. L. Cathey of Candler and Jackie McElrath of Swannanoa. Junior attendants at the wedding were Miss Charlotte Moore and Master Kenney Parker. A reception immediately followed the ceremony at the church. Mrs. Warren, a graduate of Western Academy of Hairstyling, has been em ployed at Luna’s Beauty Salon in Swannanoa. Mr. Warren is presently employed at Ameri can Enka Corporation and is an active member of the Naval Reserve in Asheville. The couple will live in Candler after their honey moon trip. The church was decorated with arrangements of mixed flowers. The altar held a green spray bar with an arch of candles and two palms. The mother of the bride wore a formal gown of pink polyester. The groom’s mo ther wore a blue formal gown. Both wore white double carnation corsages. Mr. and Mrs. Robert Lee Fox, formerly of Yancey County and grandparents of the bride, also attended. Mrs. Briggs stated that the emphasis of the speakers at the District meeting was on reaching out for unity in service with love. Mrs. Briggs mentioned that three members of the local club attended the session. Mrs. Sargent noted that Mrs. Briggs had been awarded a special pin at the meeting in recognition of her service as 1 . A church reception was given following the wedding by the bride’s parents. Serving at the reception were Cleo Fox, Ruth Fox and Eula Norton, Aunts of the bride. The bride and groom both work for Duke Power Com pany in Winston Salem. After a wedding trip they will live on Linville Road, Kerners ville, N.C. the preceding District II president. Mr, William Hess was guest speaker for the club program. He based his remarks on the upcoming Bicentennial celebration and showed a film entitled: “N.C. ’76-And Forward.” Mrs. Floyd Davis and Mrs. Phyllis Bailey served as hostesses during the social hour. Given in marriage by her father, the bride selected a formal gown of white mara caine in an A line Empire silhouette, V neckline, waist and trumpet sleeves detailed with Venise lace and satin pull-through ribbons. Debby Clark of Maitland, Florida was honor attendant for the bride. Bridesmaids were Carol Allen, sister-in law of the bride. Gay Goforth of Orlando and Cathy Dodson of Fort Lauderdale, Florida. Flower girl was Patti Allen and ring bearer was Michael Clement of Deland, Florida. Randy Nelson of Orlando Florida, was the bridegroom’s best man. Ushers wer John Cunningham and Ron Hen derson of Orlando, Ted Allen of Maitland, Eugene Clement of Deland, and Eddie Turn man of Ft. Lauderdale. The bride’s mother wore a formal gown of soft pink with lace jacket and a shoulder corsage of red and pink rose buds. The bridegroom’s mo ther wore a formal gown of beige, lace jacket and corsage of yellow rose buds. A reception followed the ceremony at the recreation room of Plantation Apart ments. Mrs. Earl Abeel and Mrs. L. Adams of Orlando assisted with cake and punch. Mrs. Eddie Tumman of Ft. Lauderdale presided at the bride’s book. After a wedding trip to Gatlinburg, Tenn. and West ern North Carolina the couple will reside in Maitland, Fla. Mrs. Adams is the grand daughter of Mr. and Mrs. W. L. Allen of Burnsville.
