Damage to Mathews’ 1974 truck was estimated at $800, and damage to Bledsoe’s 1977 Toyota was estimated at $3500. Bledsoe and her daughter were admitted to Kings Mountain Hospital. John David Faucette of 704 Marion Street reported that he was run off the road while he was traveling on North Gnatt Street at 11 p.m., causing him to hit a guy wire, Damage to his 1981 Datsun was estimated at $400. On June 1 at approximately 8:05 a.m. a 1978 Pontiac driven by Johnathan Todd Page of Route 4, Kings Mountain, ran a stop sign at the corner of Lee Street and Scotland Drive and was hit by a bus driven by Michelle Todd Hamm of Route 4, Kings Mountain. Hamm swerved to avoid hitting the car, but was not successful. The bus hit a culvert, causing the front . ‘wheels of the bus to come off and the bus to overturn. There were approximately 32 passengers on the bus, and 14 were taken to Kings Mountain Hospital. Page was also admitted to Kings Mountain Hospital. Damage to Page’s 1978 Pontiac was estimated at $3500. Damage to the school bus was estimated at $20,000, and damage to a fence, yard and grass belonging to Charles A. Neisler of 700 Lee Street was estimated at $1,000. ‘Patrolman Don Ivey in- vestigated. On May 25, a breaking and entering was reported at Kings Mountain Generator Shop, 201 W. King Street. A television set valued at $89 was reported miss- ing. Gary Sale investigated. On May 26, Robert Stafford reported a weedeater valued at $50 was stolen from his utility shed. Gary Sale investigated. On May 26, Michael Sanders of 106 Fulton Street reported so- meone painted the outside of his _ house with black spray paint, causing $500 damage. B. G. Ben- ton investigated. Syble Elaine Warlick reported her 1980 Pontiac stolen while it was parked in Kings Mountain Plaza parking lot. James Camp investigated. An AM-FM radio, coffee Graduation Held Tuesday From Page 1-A entered KMHS as sophomores, urged the graduates to make “somebody” out of themselves. “We not only tried to teach you from the books, but tried to teach you to have pride in your school, community and nation, and to love: one another,” McRae told the graduates during a brief speech. Officers of the Senior Class were in charge of the program. Class President Lee Neisler pointed out that the Class of 1982 not only excelled academically and in athletics, but cared for other people. “We were part of five blood- mobiles which netted over 800 pints of blood,” he said, “and part of a cancer fund drive which raised $1,877, with our class contributing over $800.” Later in the program, Class Treasurer Leigh Anne Baliles presented a $1,000 check to School Board Chairman June Lee to establish a fund to con- struct an indoor swimming pool at’ the high school. “Although we’re making the presentation to the Kings Moun- tain District Schools, we hope this is something that can be us- ed by the entire community, and we urge the business sector and future classes to contribute to this project,” Miss Baliles said. Kristin Anne Gatts, Class Vice-President, gave the invoca- tion; Robert Lee Smith III, Presi- dent of the SPO, welcomed guests; Claude Russell Morrison Jr., Class Secretary, recognized the honor graduates, and Terry Leonard Feaster pronounced the benediction. The KMHS Chorale and Ensemble presented special music. CORRECTION The wedding of Rhonda Arleen Shytles and Joel Russell Cloninger will be held August 7 at the Boyce Memorial A.R.P. Church, not August 4 as was reported in May 13 edition of the Herald.
