Page 4B-THE KINGS MOUNTAIN HERALD-Thursday, April 12, 1990 Revival Services End Sunday At Chestnut Ridge Baptist Our revival at Chestnut Ridge Baptist Church ended Sunday. The visiting pastor, Rev. Herman Thomas, who is retired but present- ly serving as interim pastor at Highland Baptist Church in Shelby, brought exciting, stirring messages. Although attendance was not what we would have liked in terms of numbers, the revival was fruitful with many re-dedications and three persons receiving Christ as their Saviour. The Sunday night service was set aside for baptism of the three, Terri King, Julie Pruitt and Wendy Blake. We were very pleased that three of our members who have been sick were able to attend several nights. They were Estelle Hawkins, and Millard and Hester Putman. The two and three year old Sunday School class was treated to a party Sunday for Todd Jackson, whose birthday was last week. The party was given by Todd's grand- mother, Faye Lovelace, who also teaches the tot's class. Happy second anniversary to Randy and Delores Davis. Steve Fredell, Chestnut Ridge % By Myrle King The Gleaners Class is giving an Easter egg hunt for all children of the church Saturday from 2-4 p.m. Everything will be furnished and the children are asked to bring only their Easter baskets. The church will hold Sunrise serivce Easter morning at the church cemetery. Breakfast will follow in the fellowship hall. The public is invited. Stretch Bollinger is doing much better and is back in services with us but Woodrow England is still every sick, although he has been released from the hospital. Brenda Cash has also been released from the hospital. Mollie Phillips is very ill and so is Allen Pruitt, son of Kaye Pruitt, Classmates Take Trip To Outer Banks Steve Fredell, son of Dianne and Wayne Fredell, went with his 6th grade class from Tryon School to the Outer Banks for a field trip last week. This was a grand trip for all involved. April Wilson's mother, Peggy and grandmother, Kathryn Payseur, served cupcakes, chips and cold drinks to her 1st-2nd classroom to celebrate April's birthday last Thursday. Kathryn Bridges, Marie Neal, Lottie Burton and Frances Wilson paid a surprise visit to Eva Thompson in her new room at the Methodist Home Monday night. They have a beautiful new eight- story building there and have moved all the residents from the Long By Frances Wilson | old Epworth Place. Don't forget the Bridges Bible Class Easter breakfast Easter Sunday morning. The workers who arrive early have just as much fun cooking and serving this breakfast as those who come to eat. This will be our 21st year to cook breakfast for the church and the community.
