CHARLES WILSON Wilsons Are Honored On 50th Anniversary Mr. and Mrs. Charies Wilson of Kings Mountain celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary at a drop-in reception Sunday at Macedonia Baptist Approximately 200 guests called between 3 and 5 p.m. The church was decorated in white and gold and the colors were car- ried out in the cake, which was baked and decorated by Mrs. Odell Norwood. The numbers "50" topped the four-tiered cake. Cake, punch and other refreshments were served in the church fellow- Hosting the event were their children and grandchildren, Mr. and Mrs. Steve Wilson, Ashley and Crystal; Mr. and Mrs. Mike Blanton and Jennifer; Mr. and Mrs. Jackie Barnette, Jessica and Wendy; and Mr. and Mrs. Ronnie Wilson, Michelle and Ronnie Jr. The Wilsons were married August 31, 1940 in Gaffney, S.C. Mrs. Wilson is the former Virginia Burch. Plans for the annual fall District Tour of the National Society Daughters of the American Revolution of North Carolina have been completed by Mrs. Joe M. Dietzel, Lumberton, State Regent, and Mrs. George Earl Thompson, Emerald Isle, State Vice Regent. The tour will begin Monday, September 10 at Farmville, and will end Friday, September 21 at Madison. North Carolina is made up of 107 Chapters in nine districts which will be visited by all State Officers and State Chairmen who will discuss plans for the year's work, give out specific instuctions, to all Chapter Regents. Individual Chapters will be hostesses for the meetings which will begin with registration at 9:30 a.m., followed by business session at 10, and lunch at 1 p.m. All Chapter Regents, Chapter Officers, Chairmen and members are en- couraged to attend. Each District Director will preside and conduct business at her District meeting, and State Regent, Mrs. Dietzel, will lead the State Officers’ forum. Following is the itinerary of the tour: District 8, Monday September 10 at Farmville at the Chapter House of Benjamin May Chapter, hostess; District 6, Tuesday, September 11, Hoilday Inn, Oxford, John Penn Chapter, host- ess; District 7 Wednesday, September 12, Howard Johnson Motel and Convention Center, Fayetteville, Colonel Robert Rowan Chapter, hostess; District 9, Thursday, September 13, Lake Cove Restaurant, Lake Waccamaw, Major General Robert Howe, Whiteville, hostess; District 3, Monday, September 17, Holiday Inn, Monroe, John Foster Chapter, hostess; District 2, Tuesday, September 18, Gardner Webb College, Boiling Spring, Flint Hills Chapter, hostess; District 1, Wednesday, September 19, Hendersonville Country Club, Wedding Day Luncheon Honors Kim Sisk, Bride-Elect A bridesmaids luncheon honor- ing Miss Kim Sisk, August 11 bride-elect of Edwin Braunns, was held on her wedding day at the home of Mrs. Harold Crawford on Bethlehem Road. Entertaining with Mrs, Crawford were her daughters, Mrs. Lisa Smith and Mrs. Amy Davis. The Crawford home was beauti- fully decorated in the wedding col- ors of peach and ivory and green- ery. As guests arrived they were served punch in the den and later enjoyed lunch in the dining room and sunroom. Favors, which were crystal song- bird bells tied with peach ribbon and baby's breath, were used to mark each place. Miss Sisk took the occasion to present gifts to her attendants and other members of the wedding par- ty. Special guests were the bride- . elect's mother, Mrs. Gilda Testa; the bridegroom-to-be's mother, Mrs. Kitty Braunns , and the bride- groom-elect's sisters, Mary Ella Ryan and Merla Jewell, all of Ohio. Lawn, Garden Shower Honors Engaged Couple Kim Sisk and Edwin Braunns, whose wedding took place Aug. 11th, were honored Aug. 4 at a lawn and garden shower at the home of Lisa and Chuck Austin in Kings Mountain. The 25 guests presented them with gifts. Guests enjoyed punch, meat- balls, vegetables, chips, mints and dip from a decorative table set up in the pool area which was sur- rounded by flower baskets and ta- bles overlaid with pink tablecloths. . The bridegroom's mother chose a blue lace dress and wore a corsage of peach roses. Amy C. Davis presided at the register and Betty Putnam directed the wedding. A beautifully-appointed reception was held after the ceremony at Holiday Inn and music was provided by Chip- N- Dale's of Gastonia. After a wedding trip to Charleston, S. C., the newlyweds are at home at 120 Wells Street in Kings Mountain. The bridegroom's parents hosted the after-rehearsal dinner on Friday night before the wedding at Kings Mountain Depot.
