While wintering with a circus In South Carolina, he learned about Ersklne College, and while studying at Ersklne he became a Christian and felt the call to the Gospel ministry. He finished Ersklne College In 1961 and Ersklne TTieologlcal Seminary In 1963. He then served Hickory Grove and. James Somers Named Controller At Carmet DR. JACK HEINSOHN Smyrna (S.C.) Associate Reformed Presbyterian Churches for two years. He then served six years as Denominational Evangelist for the Associate Reformed Presbyterian Church. Following this he became Chaplain for Grove City College, a Presbyterian school In Pennsylvania until accepting the call to Los Angeles. He Is married to the former Martha Lauder dale of Lexington, Va., and they have five children. Ersklne College bestowed the Doctor of Divinity on Rev. Heinsohn In 1977. James L. Somers, division accounting manager for Carmet Company's Mlnetool Division, has been named _ to the newly-created position of controller. In his new position. Somers will manage the Division’s financial assets, as well as other ad ministrative eireas. Car- met Company Is a division of AlleghenyLudlum In dustries, headquartered In Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. North Carolina, with manufacturing facilities In that city and Bluefleld, Virginia. Warehouses and district sales offices are located throughout the country. Monthly GED Examinations To Be Held August 10 & 11 1st Presbyterian Circles To Meet Circles of First Presbyterian Church will meet next week. A covered dish luncheon will be held at 12 noon Mon., Aug. 6th, at the Lake Montonia home of Mrs. C. Don Blanton. Members of Circles 2 The monthly GED examination is scheduled at Cleveland Tech on Friday, Aug. 10, from l p.m. until 6 p.m., and will continue Sat., Aug. 11, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Both sessions are required In order to complete the test. Application may be made by any North Carolina adult 18 or older who has been out of a regular high school program for at least six months. The examination tests will be Issued a Certif icate of High School Flqulvalency by the NC State Board of Education. A GED preparatory program Is available but not required. This Is a self- study, self-paced program. There Is a $6 fee for the GED testing service. The fee will be collected by Cleveland Tech's business office at 12:30 p.m., on Fri., Aug. 10. The receipt along with proper Iden tification will serve as admittance to the testing session. Applications to be tested or re-tested must be made by Frl., Aug. 3 to Mrs. Rebecca Cook or a staff member In the Learning Resources Center at Cleveland Tech, 137 South Post Road, Shelby.
