T* The couple pledged vows of the double-ring ceremony before the Rev. Jesse M. Head. Mrs. Bruce Bishop was organist, Mrs. Mike Deason was pianist and Mrs. Bernls Varner was vocalist for the program of nuptial music. 1110 altar of the church was banked with roses, carnations, mums and ferns and enhanced by cathedral candles In wrought-lron candelabra. Harry C. Robinson escorted his daughter to the altar and gave her In Entertained At Rehearsal Dinner Miss Martha Ann Stone and Pat \lltchell were honored after their wed ding rehearsal Friday at a dinner party hosted by the bridegroom • to - be's mother, Mrs. George Patterson Mitchell, Sr. of Greenville, S.C. at Ramada Inn, Gastonia. A three-course dinner was served to 40 guests. Including members of the two families and wedding party. Daisies, baby’s breath, greenery and candles decorated the dining tables with a large arrangement of daisies and candles used at the head table where the bride and bridegroom, their parents, Mr. and Mrs. W.F. Stone, Jr., Mrs. George P. Mitchell, the i bride-to-be's grand parents, Mr. and Mrs. F.C. Ware, and Rev. James Holder were seated. Toasts to the bride and bridegroom were made by various members of the wedding party. The prospective bridegroom took the oc casion to present his gifts to members of the wedding party. marriage. The bride’s wedding gown was a formal design of white polyester designed along empire lines with formal train which swept alsle- wlde. The gown and mantilla veil were made by the bride's aunt, Mrs. J.H. Ingle. The bride carried a nosegay of minuet roses and car nations. Mrs. Clyde CUfton Rice Jr. of Marshall, sister of the bride, was matron of honor and Miss Elizabeth Sams of Candler, Miss Jane P. Edwards of Austin, Texas, and Miss Susan E. Hensley of Mars IflU were bridesmaids. All the attendants wore long formats of polyester, matron of honor In blue and the bridesmaids in rose. They carried bouquets of carnations tinted to match their dresses. Lynn Huntslnger was flower girl and Michael Ball was ringbearer. Ronald Nanney of Shelby was the bridegroom's best man and ushers were Doug Bridges, Joe Champion, both of Shelby, and Tim McSwaln of Taylorsville. Ihe bride’s mother was gcwned In a beige formal length gown and wore a corsage of carnations. The bridegroom’s mother chose a long floral gown and a corsage of carnations. After the ceremony the bride’s parents en tertained at a beautlfuUy- appolnted wedding reception In the church fellowship hall. After August Uth, the newlyweds will be at home at SOS Rhodes Ave. For traveling to Atlanta, Ga., the new Mrs. Bumgardner chose a blue floral dress and lifted the corsage from her bridal bouquet. BRIDE AND BRIDEGROOM Mr. and Mrs. Harry C. Robinson of Asheville are parents of the bride who la a graduate of Mars Hill College and Is employed by the Gaston County School System. The bridegroom Is the son of Mrs. B.T. Bumgardner of Kings Mountain and the late Benjamin Thomas Bumgardner. He Is a graduate of Gardner-Webb College and Is employed by Kings Mountain District Schools and as Minister of Music at Lily Memorial Baptist Church In Shelby. M » M » MRS. ' Miss Joyce Ann Wilson I became Mr. Lancaster’s bride In a 4 p.m. wedding In First Baptist Church. Rev. Clyde Bearden, minister of the church, heard the couple exchange vows of the double-ring ceremony. Mrs. Ellen McCurdy was organist for the program of nuptial music and vocal numbers were by Allen Jolley. The altar of the church was banked with blue and white flowers and arranged with wrought- lron candelabra holding lighted cathedral tapers. ‘ Thomas E. Wilson escorted his daughter to the altar and gave her In marriage. The bride’s wedding gown was a formal design of white dacron organza styled with ruffled cap sleeves, empire waistline and fuU, circular skirt with flounce niffle. Ihe gown was enhanced by silk Venlse lace and flowing. Chapel train. Her flngertlp-length veil was trimmed with silk Venlse lace and attached to a lace- covered Juliet headpiece accented with pearls. She carried a bouquet of white silk rosebuds with a touch of blue flowers. Miss Susan Wilson at tended the bride as maid of honor and bridesmaids were Miss Karen Dixon and Miss Marlsa Dixon, all of Kings Mountain. The three attendants wore blue print chiffon gowns styled with V- neckllnes and full skirts enhanced with bustle back. Ihe gowns were accented with detachable capes. The bridegroom’s mother chose a yellow SUesta gown styled with blouson bodice and crystal pleated skirt. She wore a white shoulder corsage. After the ceremony, the bride’s parents en tertained at a beautlfully- appointed wedding reception in the church fellowship hall where the wedding colors of blue and yellow were featured In decorative details. The bride’s table was centered with sin arrangement of blue, yellow and white summer flowers. A tiered wedding cake. Iced In the wedding colors, was cut and served from one end of the table. Golden punch was served from a silver punch bowl from the op posite end of the table. BRIDE AND BRIDEGROOM Mr. and Mrs. ’Thomas E. Wilson of Gastonia are parents of the bride, who Is a 1978 graduate of Hunter Huss High School and Is employed by Trla’s Italian Restaurant. The bride Is granddaughter of Ira J.
