Harvey L. Beeler, from Patterson Springs Baptist Church, Interment following In the church cemetery. Mrs. Ellis was a native of Cleveland County, daughter of the late Joe Blsco and Dora Allen Ellis and a member of Patterson Springs Baptist Church. Surviving are her son, Austin ElUs, of Rt. 1, Orover; two brothers, J.C. ElUs of Route 1, Ctax>ver, and Clyde Bills of Route 3, Bostic; three sisters, Ms. Edna ElUs and Mrs. Lorena Peterson, both of Route 6, Shelby, and Mrs. Laura Mayes of Route 1, Kings Mountain, and five grandchUdren. Everett Lee died Wednesday at Kings Mountain Hospital. Survivors, In addition to his parents. Include hla paternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. C.L. Ross of Route 1, Kings Moun tain, were conducted Friday at Chestnut Ridge Baptist Church by Rev. MltcheU Pruitt and Rev. Richard Plyler. Mr. Ross, 64, died Wednesday at Kings Mountain Hospital. LILLIE MELTON Funeral rites tor Mrs. LllUe May Sanders Melton, 88, of Gastonia, were conducted Saturday at 8 p.m. from Har mony Baptist Church of Gastonia, Interment following In West view Cemetery. Rev. Roy Clark and Rev. Bobby Meeks officiated at the rites. Mrs. Melton died Thursday morning In Gaston Memorial Hospital. She was a native of Cleveland County, daughter of the late Simon J. and Bffle Peterson Sanders and was employed at Textiles, Inc. of Gastonia. Surviving are her husband, Harley Melton; a son, Keith Melton of Gastonia; five daughters, Mrs. Ann Davis, Mrs. Sandra Whaley, Mrs. Donna Whaley, Mrs. Donna Howell and Mrs. Becky Wall, all of Gastonia; three brothers. Gene Sanders of Kings Moun tain, Earl Sanders of Gaffney, S.C. and Boyce Sanders of Winter Garden, Fla,; three sisters, Mrs. Beatrice Peterson and Mrs. Hsutel Bollinger, both of Kings Mountain, and Mrs. Lois Hayes of Gaffney, S.C. and nine grandchildren. PEARL THOMAS Funeral services for Mrs. Pearl Head Thomas, 66, of 906 Church St., who died Friday morning In Kings Mountain Hospital, were conducted Sunday at 2 p.m. from Chestnut Ridge Baptist Church by Rev. Mitchell Pruitt and Rev. Eugene Land, Interment following In Mountain Rest Cemetery. Mrs. Thomas, widow of Oscar Lee Thomas, formerly owned and operated Thomas Grocery. She was daughter of the late Robert C. and Laura Morrow Head. Surviving are her brother, the Rev. Sam Head of Kings Mountain, and one slster,Mrs. Harriett Price of Concord. ROBERT LEE DOVER Graveside services for Robert Lee Dover, 60, of Rt. 3, who died Thursday at home, were con ducted Sunday at 8 p.m. from Cannan Methodist Church Cemetery by Rev. B.L. Queen. Mr. Dover was a retired farmer and a member of Can- nan Methodist Church. His parents were the late Dewey William and Carrier Bowling Dover. Surviving are two brothers, Odell Dover and Haskell Dover, both of Kings Mountain. Lutz-Austell Funeral Home was In charge of arrangements. P^KSy Ann Rowell of Kings Mountain, a student at the Utalveralty of North, Carolina at Asheville, has been chosen tor the latest edition of "Who's Who Among Students In American Utalversltles and Colleges.” She Is among 84 UNC-A students nominated for "academic achievement, service to the community and leadership In jextracurricular activities.” Miss Rowell la the daughter of Mrs. Peggy J. Rowell of 800 Lee Street, Kings fountain. She Is a member of Pal Chi, the Spanish Club and the Images staff. Mias Rowell la a senior psychology major.
