March 5. 1981 Optimist Wins 33-18 Optimist defeated Jaycees/Kiwanis 33-18 in 8-10 year old youth basketball league action Monday night at the Neighborhood Facilities Center. Brent Bagwell scored 12 points and Monty Deaton eight for the winners. Tim Goode scored 12 and Brian Webster five for the losers. The Deacons edged C&C Metal 27-26 in a game played Tuesday evening. Greg Young scored 10 points and Jamie Belcher and Spencer Brown four each for the Deacons. Brian Jones scored 20, Shan Conner four and Daniel Honeycutt two for the losers. Belcher scored 10 points, Ken ny Potter six and Young four Wednesday night to lead the Deacons to a 20-18 win over the Tigers. Eddie Moss led the Tigers with 10. Optimist outscored Broncos 24-10 Thursday as Bagwell scored 10 points and Monty and Toby Deaton added four each. Thomas Feemster scored eight and Jody Champion two for the losers. Plonk Oil Wins 20-17 Plonk Oil edged Can Do 20-17 in a 11-12 year old youth basket ball league game Monday night at the Neighborhood Facilities Center. Jody Champion and Thomas Feemster scored eight points each for the winners and Shan Smith scored six and Donnie Green five for the losers. In a game played Sunday, Op timist defeated Plonk Oil 32-27. Sam Smith scored 13, Edwin Sherer seven and Sidney Brown three for Optimist. Darrel Burris scored 15 and Raynard Roberts eight for the losers. Broncos Edge Tigers 20-16 The Broncos edged the Tigers 20-16 in 13-15 year old youth basketball league action Thurs day night at the Neighborhood Facilities Center. Bernard Thompson scored six points and Thomas Feemster and Justine Sherer five each for the Broncos. Eddie Moss scored six points and Anthony Hillman and Alan Williams added four each for the Tigers. FIRE MEETING A general meeting of the Chestnut Ridge Volunteer Fire Department will be held Thurs day at 7:30 p.m. in the recreation building at Chestnut Ridge Bap tist Church. A board of directors will be elected and other business discussed. All interested persons are urged to attend. WOMEN VOTERS Annual meeting of the Gaston County League of Women Voters will be held Thurs., Mar. 5th at 7:30 p.m. at St. Mark’s Episcopal Church at the corner of Franklin and York Streets in Gastonia.
