r Leslie Ray Toler weds Cathy 1|[orman On Saturday afternoon May 17, 1980 at 2 p.m. a candlelight double ring ceremony was held uniting Leslie Ray Toler and Cathy Lynn Norman. The ceremony was held at New Haven F.W. Baptist Church in Caton, N. C. with the Rev. David Cauley, pastor officiating. The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Larry Wade Norman of Ernul. The bridegroom is the son of Mrs. Quentin R. Toler and the late 'Mr. Toter. ^Ry was given in mlffriage by her father. The church was decorat ed with candles, pine and magnolia arrangement in the windows. The altar and piano was decorated with assorted size globes holding candles, accented with pine, magnolia and ivy. The pews were marked with white satin bows. Baskets of magnolia and sweet williams floral arrangements decorated the church. 15 candle archway candelbra twined with ivy stood in the sanctuary. A program of nuptial music was presented by Miss Lisa Anderson on the piano and Mrs. Jerry Norman, foloist. She sang “Time In A Bottle,” "Twelth of Never,” “Wedding Prayer,” and “If.” The bride wore a floor length gown of white organza over taffeta. The sculptured Queen Ann neckline was accented with Chantilly lace. The full Bishop sleeves end in a cuff of lace. The soft full skirt flowed from the fitted bodice to a hem accented with a flounce of Chantilly Lace ^v^jkh carried through 'l^PInd the Chapel length train. She wore a fingertip veil of white bridal illusion which was accented with Chantilly lace and fell from a Juliet cap of lace and seed pearls. Her jewelry was a locket that belonged to her paternal grandmother the late Mrs. Sarah Ellen Norman. Her attendants were as foUows, Matron of Honor Mrs. William Toler, wearing a floor '«ngth light blue polyester gown and carried a long stemmed tinted mum. The bride’s Maids were as follows, Mrs. Jimmy Toler, Mrs. John Toler, she wore long pink princess satin gowns and carried a long stem pink tinted mum. Junior Bridesmaid was Miss Vicki Elaine Norman, she wore a long mint green princes satin gown and carried a long stem pink tinted mum. Junior Bridesmaid was Miss Vicki Elaine Nor man. She wore a long mint green pinces satin gown and carried a long stem, mint tinted mum. William Shadie Toler was the bridegrooms bestman. The ushers were Airman Larry Wade Norman Jr. brother of the bride. Johnny Toler, brother of the bridegroom, and Junior Usher, brother of the bride, Jeffrey Allen Norman. Leslie and cathy present ed a long stemmed red rose to the mothers of the bride and groom. Mrs. Myrtle Norman and Mrs. Doris Toler. A reception was held in the fellowship hall following the ceremony. Mrs. Connie Riggs presided over the bride’s book. Hostess were Mrs. George Crawford who cut the cake and Mrs. Vernon Norman and Mrs. Noah Norman, served the punch. Refreshments were wed ding cake, date balls sandcresents, bridal mints, nuts, pimento and chicken salad sandwiches and fruit punch. Leslie Ray Toler wedding bands. The cake was decorated with red roses. The serving table was decorated a red table cloth with a white lace table cloth over it. The center piece was the bridal boquet laying between two red candles in silver candle- holders. The brides table was decorated with a hugh globe holding red and white silk carnations and red candles in silver holder. The bride’s book on one end and a wedding picture of Cathy. They left on their honey moon to unannounced points. Upon returning they will be making their home in Caton. N. C. Haddock weds Carlson William Augustus Haddock, Jr. and Jean Ann Carlson were united in marriage Sunday, May 17, 1980 in the Blacknell Presbyterian Church in Durham, N. C. William is the son of Mr. and Mrs. William Haddock of Vanceboro. Mrs. Norman is a senior at West Craven High School and she is presently employed part-time at Zip Mart Inc. in New Bern. The Wedding Rehersal was held May 16th, Friday night at the New Haven Church. After the rehersal' everyone enjoyed refresh ment in the Fellowship Hall furnished by the bridegrooms family. The bride and groom presented their attendance gifts. Bazaar a success The women of the Holly Hill Church wishes to express their thanks to everyone, who had a part in making this bazaar a success. The ladies had taken for a project of padding the pews, seat and back, in the sanctuary. The proceeds from this bazaar paid the balance of this project. Again the ladies express es their THANKS for your participation, and invites you to join them at their church and try them out. by Alma Drake NEW BERN - The Ladies of Craven held its regular meeting on Monday night May 6 at the Berne Restaurant. The meeting was called to order by President Vernice Anderson. The Pledge of Allegiance was led by Ida Gibbs. The Invocation was given by Bessie Cherry. Virginia Wood and Bessie Cherry were welconied back after having been sick. Mrs. Carrie Woodard is reported to be out of the hospital. Sarah, Andy, Sylvia and Carrie celebrated their birthday this month. The members were asked to save and collect old magazines for Judy Davis. The guest speakers were Mrs. Louise Blackman Director of Nursing at Craven County Hospital and Katie Brown - Inservice Director. They spoke to the ladies on Youth Volunteers. This is a way to learn if you want to enter the field of Health Care. There will be 6 youth volunteers per 3 hr. shifts - 1 adult per 3 hr. shift. The shift hours are 9-12,12-3,3- 6 and 6-9. The Ladies of Craven will be sent packets of guidelines. All youth volunteers are invited to attend our meeting so they can become acquainted with us. A report on Mission Rest Home was given by Mrs. Florence Hewett, E)orothy Gaskins, Ruby Parker, and Jo Dickerson. Everyone had a good time visiting with the patients. The Ladies seiwed Refresh ments and passed out gifts. Future Fund Raising Projects include (1) Dance to be held at George St. Rec. Center. (2) Bake Sale & Yard Sale and (3) Booth at Craven County Fair. The Ladies of Craven will be receiving and award for miles traveled to Area IX Meeting that was held in Jacksonville, N. C.
