RED CROSS NURSE ! FOR RUTHERFORD! Miss Aurelia George,of Akron, Ohio to Begin Work in County This Week. Rutherfordton, April 9.—Miss Au relia George, of Akron, Ohio,' is the new Red Cross nurse who began her work in Rutherford county this week. It is hoped that she will work at least four months. The work was made possible by the liberal Red Cross roll call last November 11 to 25. It is being put on without one cent of cost to • the taxpayers of Rutherford county. She will work in the sections that supported the Roll Call: Gilkey, Rutherfordton- Spindale-Ruth school districts, Cool Springs Township schools, and the Henrietta-Caroleen schools. Her work will be mostly with the schools. She will follow .up and try to correct physical defects found by the county physician. She will sug gest the proper diet, sleep, exercise and will help in the "summer round up" of getting children ready phy sicially for school next fall. She will talk to the parent-teacher associa tions, civic clubs, etc., on "Better Health." She will help to put on the tonsil clinic this summer. Miss George is a graduate nurse of Akron. She had a' year' in pub lic health and social work at Western Reserve University, Cleveland,-. Ohio. She is a post-graduate 1 in pediatrics at the Nursery and Child's >hogpital of New York City. '-She . .worked with the Arkansas State Board ,of Health three years and '-hasi much. She has 14 months' exper ience in Health work in the. .Baltic: states en the Gulf of Finland.
